About Us
Xpress Yourself Publishing, affectionately known as XYP, is an English-language publisher, headquartered in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. The house of national best-selling authors Bill Holmes, Kenda Bell, Victoria Wells and Jessica Tilles, XYP was founded in 2001 by Jessica Tilles. XYP's authors are scattered throughout the United States.
Today, XYP is a broad-based publisher dedicated to publishing thought-provoking literature and commercial fiction, business books, mystery, romance, erotica, spiritual, and contemporary.
In 2004, XYP launched The Writer's Assistant, a resource for writers, by writers, providing services to primarily self-published authors and small publishers, offering low, affordable rates. Over the years, TWA has built a prestigious client list that includes Gary A Johnson Company, Life Changing Books, Black Men In America.com, Peace In the Storm Publishing, Courtland Press, Grayer Publishing, and several national best-selling authors, as well as small and corporate organizations.
Adding to its family, in 2008, XYP launched Xpress Yourself PR promoting such clients as Gary A. Johnson, author of 25 Things That Really Matter In Life, Nataki Suggs, author of A Life Beyond Limits: Overcoming Private Pain and Linda R. Herman, author of Consequences: When Love Is Blind.

In fiscal year 2007,
XYP had ESSENCE Best Sellers including One Love by Bill Holmes
and For Every Love There Is A Reason by Kenda Bell, and D.L.
Sparks, author of All That Glitters, made the master list for to
be nominated for the 2008 NAACP Image Awards. The 2007 Alternative Soul
Award was awarded to Bill Holmes, author of One Love and ESSENCE
best-selling author.
Building into a successful publishing house, XYP successfully
launched FirstLook, Invite the Author and signed five new authors.
